Cosy Pub Fireplace

Although the name has changed, there has been a public house on this site since the early 16th Century. It is said to have been used as a staging post for convicts awaiting transportation, but the welcome today is much different!

Many of the original features remain and can still be seen in the pub.

It is a place where you can relax with friends throughout the year either round open fires or in either of the two beautiful patio areas we have created.

Real Ale Pub / CAMRA Pub

Our cask ales are still stored and served direct from the tap room. We stock a wide range on ales which we are proud to source from the local independent brewers of East Anglia.

Home Cooked Food

We welcome diners both in our main bar area and in the snug. Our menu of special dishes changes regularly and details of these can be found on the board above the main fireplace in the bar. Traditional favourites are always available.

Dog Friendly Pub

The Moon & Mushroom welcomes well-behaved dogs. Our heated patio gardens are very popular throughout the year with drinkers and diners alike. There is a dedicated area where smokers are welcome.

Quaint village pub of great character

A new find and had two visits. From large village car park you enter at side into an old world and charming atmosphere with inviting log fires. We found local staff very welcoming and some choice local beers.

An interesting menu including specials. Learnt from locals that the Catalan Shell Fish Stew was a favourite and those who tried it said it was exceptional (although messy to deal with but plenty serviettes on hand!)

Fish and chips, steak and other usual pub dishes all well prepared and served.

A great experience in a place of charm and most welcoming staff.
