Historic Pubs in Suffolk
Welcome to the Moon & Mushroom Inn Swilland
Although the name has changed, there has been a public house on this site since the early 16th Century. It is said to have been used as a staging post for convicts awaiting transportation, but the welcome today is much different!
Many of the original features remain and can still be seen in the pub.
It is a place where you can relax with friends throughout the year either round open fires or in either of the two beautiful patio areas we have created.
Real Ale Pub / CAMRA Pub
Our cask ales are still stored and served direct from the tap room. We stock a wide range on ales which we are proud to source from the local independent brewers of East Anglia.
Suffolk Pub of the Year Award
The Moon and Mushroom has been recognized as a pub offering outstanding quality of food, cask ales and hospitality and was awarded the Suffolk Pub of The Year award by the Evening Star on two occasions.
Live Events
Throughout the year there are many events that take place at the Moon and Mushroom. Details are posted on the What's On page.
Home Cooked Food
We welcome diners both in our main bar area and in the snug. Our menu of special dishes changes regularly and details of these can be found on the board above the main fireplace in the bar. Traditional favourites are always available.
Dog Friendly Pub
The Moon & Mushroom welcomes well-behaved dogs. Our heated patio gardens are very popular throughout the year with drinkers and diners alike. There is a dedicated area where smokers are welcome.
